FAQ

Who are your clients and what kind of work do you do?

We work with the PNW’s leading companies—from enterprise mainstays like Microsoft, Alaska Airlines, Tableau, T-Mobile, and AWS to innovative mid-market companies and startups. Our projects vary by client need, ranging from brief, multi-month strategy projects to multiyear engagements. Check out our How we work page to learn more about our marketing, communications, and business operations work.

I’ve submitted my consultant application. Now what?

Great—thanks for your interest! Next, we strongly encourage you to attend a weekly Connect session at our Kirkland HQ, where you’ll meet our talent & employee engagement teams and get valuable tips on landing your next project.Contact us to RSVP. Please note that we receive a high volume of submissions, and we will only contact you if/when we have a project that aligns with your specific skills and experience.

I’m trying to wrap my head around “project-based work.” What happens when a project ends? And what does that mean for compensation?

We coach our clients to turn business goals into discrete projects, which range from three month to yearlong gigs. As your project nears completion, our talent and employee engagement teams focus on finding you your next gig, whether it’s an extension of your existing project or a new role with a different client. While we try our best to help you maintain a consistent pipeline of work, we do not have a “bench” and your benefits conclude at month end if you don’t secure a follow-on project. Because these projects are deliverable based, we pay our employees a monthly salary, not an hourly bill rate.

Do you post all open roles on your website?

No! Our business moves very quickly. Start by submitting your consultant application, and we’ll reach out if we have an opening that fits your skills and experience. We often post opportunities on social, so follow us for real-time visibility into our current openings.

What's a working session?

At Simplicity, we facilitate client working sessions, not interviews. They give our clients a chance to have a conversation with you about their specific business needs; and rather than simply regurgitating your resume and complete work history, they give you an opportunity to demonstrate how you think and communicate. Clients want to know how you are going to make an immediate impact in their business: use this 30-minute session to tell them how you will do that based on your track record.
